"Above and Beyond" is a help, motivational, recreational and educational organization that will work with young children, teenagers and to implement in the future young adults. Our main objective is to provide the young generation with a sense of assurance and guidance so that they can be prosperous and of beneficial help to their communities and interact in any social environment and/or economic situation that may occur. We will also focus on keeping the body in good shape with different recreational settings/ events and by developing good eating habits. We strive to focus on developing social skills which are very important along with providing them with the basic necessities that are needed.
Quillon Akmon Brown AKA Rashad Abdul Haqq. I’m no bigger than the smallest person on earth. I came from a background that was exposed to controlled substances, alcohol, marijuana, etc. However, I was also exposed to the best of life as a kid for a while with love, support, and backing. I was an athlete with offers of opportunities in 2 sports: Basketball and football but failed to follow up and complete the pursuit in the opportunities before me. With this said, I found myself caught up in the madness of the streets. Poor choices - Poor Decisions!
I received a change in my life (After being forced because of my own actions which enslaved me) and realized that potential was being thrown away. So I thought of this project/program and curriculum “Above & Beyond” in around 2008. In which I had it in mind to teach /show the young er generation an avenue for success outside of the government educational system. Also a recipe for elevation to heights that are abnormal today.
I acquired skills in construction, carpentry and the music industry as a youth currently operating “A World Of Services” (construction). I am also currently involved in Prison Ministries and the Founder of Brilliant Publishing Co.
